The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, is partnering with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the National League of Cities (NLC) to expand financial capability training opportunities to youth.

Description

The Youth Employment Success pilot created through this partnership will provide youth employment programs with the technical assistance needed to deliver financial literacy education and access to mainstream financial products and services. Hear from the CFPB experts who will talk about their experience infusing financial capability into summer youth employment programs, as well as promising practices to integrate such services in year-round programs. They will offer best practices and lessons learned from a previous pilot as well as strategies for building financial capability in communities, and CFPB plans to provide technical assistance to year-round youth employment programs in up to 25 municipalities. NLC will outline strategies municipal leaders and workforce systems can use to integrate these services. Application procedures and selection criteria for the pilot program will also be discussed during the webinar.
