In collaboration with the Division of Cost Determination, ETA is presenting a three part mini-series on Cost Allocation and Indirect Costs.

In these three webinars, we will uncover the mystery behind the numbers. You will learn why cost allocation is necessary, what steps a grant recipient must take in order to charge indirect costs, and what are the responsibilities of a grant recipient when allowing subrecipients to charge indirect costs.

Description

The first webinar is titled "Cost Allocation 101" and will take place on February 12th, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST. This webinar will be a basic overview of cost allocation principles and is intended for all that are interested. We will cover how to distinguish between direct and indirect costs, program and administrative costs and many other topics necessary to develop a baseline understanding of Cost Allocation. This course is a prerequisite for attending one of the subsequent courses.

The second webinar, titled "Indirect Costs Overview for Discretionary Grants", will be held on February 19th, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST. Please note that this is designed specifically for Discretionary Grant Recipients and Subrecipients. This webinar covers some of the same areas as “Cost Allocation 101”, but will go into more specifics about what your organization would need to do to obtain an indirect cost rate along with other areas essential for grant recipients and pass-through entities to properly handle indirect costs and indirect cost rate agreements.
