Description
This workshop will focus on the important role that state workforce boards and related agencies play in creating the right policy framework to support, sustain and scale local and regional partnerships. The speakers will discuss the strategies and tactics they are deploying in their state as part of their policy framework, including: how they integrate federal and state policy and resources in support of sector partnerships, including how they are capitalizing on the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the state plan as part of their framework; how they are bridging the role of the state workforce board and local workforce boards and state policy and the operation of local one-stop centers to support sector partnerships. In addition, the speakers will discuss how state policy can incent other key stakeholders like community colleges, community-based organizations and business groups to support sector partnerships. The discussion will also focus on how they are reconciling the WIOA performance requirements with the state’s vision and goals for establishing sector partnerships that are aligned with the economic realities of their state.
