You are invited to attend the H1-B Ready to Work (RTW) Long-Term Unemployed (LTU) Subject Matter Expert (SME) Webinar on “Re-engaging Older and Discouraged Workers Back into the Workforce”. This webinar will feature SMEs John Fugazzie and Chris Czarnik. They will discuss outreach and recruitment strategies for re-engaging the LTU population of older and discouraged workers back into the workforce.

Description

John Fugazzie is the Executive Director of Hudson County Jersey City Workforce Development Board and President of Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA and has over 20 years of Workforce Development experience. Chris Czarnik is the author of the “Human Search Engine for Career Search: A Serious Jobseeker's Guide”, an evidence-based curriculum that has been developed and tested over 12 years and has helped thousands of job seekers which include older and discouraged workers find employment.

Using the latest research, Mr. Fugazzie and Mr. Czarnik will focus on social media, local media (such as print and online) strategies, to creating successful recruitment campaigns targeted for older workers, and promoting the benefits of using the publicly-funded workforce system for recruitment. Mr. Fugazzie will discuss some of the impacts of globalization and technology on every job and industry as it relates to older workers, as well some tactics for educating job seekers to the realities and changes to the market, coping with emotional needs (depression and hopelessness) and collateral damage of extended long-term unemployment for discouraged workers. Mr. Czarnik will discuss aspects of the practical application of his curriculum on the LTU population.

Save the Date! Following this webinar event, we will have a group roundtable discussion to further explore this topic. The roundtable discussion/Q&A will be held on Friday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m. EST to provide grantees with the opportunity to further discuss the topic presented in the webinar with Mr. Fugazzie and Mr. Czarnik and will feature a RTW Grantee. An official invite and dial-in information for this webinar follow-up event will be sent out to grantees separate from this webinar invite.

This webinar is targeted for program directors, managers, service providers, case managers, career coaches and other staff that is responsible for providing intensive services to their RTW grant program participants.
