The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) created smaller, nimbler, more strategic local boards. In addition to changes to the membership requirements of boards, WIOA and the regulations also expanded the functions of workforce development boards and set new requirements for local board operations, transparency and internal controls.
Description
This session will cover key statutory and regulatory requirements for local board operations, such as consumer choice provisions, provision of direct services, the role of local fiscal agents, and other topics.
