This webinar will provide an overview of a “demand-driven” business services model that focuses on the integration of workforce and economic development principles and the creation of responsive, flexible programming that is customized to meet the needs of each employer that is served by grantees.

The webinar will inform grantees about various methods and best practices for approaching employers about paid work experience (PWE). The webinar will also explore reasons that employers might be hesitant to incorporate PWEs into their business model.  Additional topics covered include:

  • the customization of PWEs to meet the demands of employers
  • tracking, reporting and supervision of PWE trainees
  • and practical tools to aid in the development of a streamlined and easy-to-navigate PWE process for employers

Bronwyn Drost is the Project Manager at the Workforce Innovation Fund for Michigan Works! Southwest and has over 15 years of experience working in workforce development.

Save the Date! Following this webinar event, we’ll have a group roundtable discussion to further explore this topic. The Roundtable Discussion/Q&A will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 2:00 pm EST to provide grantees the opportunity to further discuss the topic presented in the webinar with Ms. Drost. The roundtable will feature a ready to work (RTW) Grantee and their methods of engagement with paid work experience. An official invite and dial-in information for this webinar follow-up will be sent out to grantees separate from this Webinar invite. This webinar is targeted for program directors, managers, service providers, case managers, career coaches and other staff that is responsible for providing intensive services to their RTW grant program participants.
