Hear how community colleges are actively engaging in the development of apprenticeship programs for a range of industry sectors.  Harper College and Missoula College HealthCARE Montana have sponsored innovative and successful apprenticeship programs in insurance, supply chain, and healthcare sectors, as well as in advanced manufacturing, in Illinois and Montana.

Description

Harper College and Missoula College will share their experience and challenges in standing up the apprenticeship programs at their colleges. Representatives from US Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship and Jobs for the Future will add national context.

Together the presenters will address:

  • The design of their Apprenticeship Programs
  • Flexible Models (Competency Based, Credit-Bearing, European)
  • Community Colleges as Sponsors
  • Converting Internships/Co-ops to Registered Apprenticeships
  • Common Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them
