How can key aspects of new programs or innovations be sustained after the grant is over? Not without conscious focus and planning! This webinar will feature the lessons of innovative projects, including those funded by Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training grants (TAACCCT), which can help you institutionalize effective initiatives and sustain their impact.

In many grant-funded efforts, funders and grantees often assume that the funded project will continue when the grant is over. But for many, sustainability for their grant-funded efforts is elusive, and often becomes an exercise in finding the next grant. Fortunately, there are a host of strategies that can be employed to sustain key aspects of grant efforts. This webinar features four TAACCCT community college grantees who have been able to sustain innovations through a variety of creative approaches.

Three types of grant-funded innovations will be discussed:

• Strategies to accelerate credential attainment;
• Strategies to support program completion; and
• Strategies to engage employers and align programs with labor market need.

The examples shared come from TAACCCT, but the approaches these grantees took to sustaining their work can apply to anyone seeking to make a long-term impact with a grant-funded project. Speakers from four community colleges will describe their successes in sustaining and institutionalizing their work and the challenges they faced.
