You are invited to attend the Innovative Recruitment Strategies Webinar for H-1B Strengthening Working Families Initiative (SWFI) Grantees on Thursday, May 3 at 1:00 pm EST. Learn from subject matter expert Dan Friend about innovative approaches to recruiting participants to your SWFI program.

Description

Dan Friend, a senior researcher at Mathematica, has been recruiting participants to programs and evaluations for over 15 years. He has recruited participants in a wide range of areas including family support, behavioral health, and clinical trials. Based on these experiences, Dan has identified a number of best practices for recruiting participants that he will share with SWFI grantees. Dan has shared those practices with grantees through large scale and individualized trainings as well as publications. Most recently, Dan provided recruitment training and technical assistance to 40 grantees that are providing family support services under federal grants and conducting their own evaluations of those services. He is currently providing tailored recruitment training and technical assistance to grantees participating in a federal evaluation. Dan’s recent publications include a “Research to Practice Brief” on Integrating Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education and Employment Services; this brief describes a number of recruiting best practices including developing effective referral partners and creating and delivering persuasive recruitment messages.

Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding your target population
  • Recruiting tools
  • Recruiting partners
  • Developing and implementing your recruitment strategy

All primary SWFI program leads and other grant staff involved in day to day grant activities for participant recruitment should plan to attend.
