Gain a working knowledge about the organization and purpose of the competency model, and understand how the model could be used to help address your own workforce challenges. Hear about a “real world” application of the model with the National Rural Water Association which helped that organization serve the needs of small and rural water utilities.

Description

An organization’s workforce is its most important asset. Without a trained and motivated workforce, no organization can accomplish its purpose. Across the water sector, utilities of all sizes are facing a major challenge in recruiting and retaining qualified workers to manage, operate, and maintain our Nation’s precious water infrastructure. Many organizations, including Federal agencies, are working together to address this challenge and provide utility managers and others with tools that can help them address their own workforce challenges.

This webinar will highlight the recently updated Water and Wastewater Competency Model, developed by the Department of Labor, with input from stakeholders across the sector, including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Target audience:

  • Water and wastewater utilities;
  • States and primacy agencies;
