This webinar will highlight the different types of independent evaluators states might partner with and provide an overview of how to procure evaluation services from a qualified evaluator, where appropriate.  Topics covered include the different kinds of evaluators with whom states can work, considerations for selecting a qualified independent evaluator, and approaches for competitive and non-competitive evaluator procurement.

Attendees at this session will receive useful tips and considerations to proactively search for an independent evaluator for the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program requirements and gain a greater understanding of the integral evaluation-related qualifications, experience, and expertise needed to conduct rigorous evaluations..

This webinar provides an overview of the processes and activities that support the selection and procurement of independent evaluators for the RESEA programs. 

The presenters in this session will describe:

  1. different types of independent evaluators;
  2. evaluator qualifications, levels of expertise, and experience with rigorous studies;
  3. potential benefits to working with a qualified third party evaluator;
  4. evaluation budgets, funding sources, and competitive versus no-competitive processes;
  5. competitive procurements to select evaluators; and
  6. non-competitive partnerships with other third-party evaluators.

Attendees will also learn more through a case study from a New Jersey partnership with the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and also participate in a question and answer chat session with other U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) representatives to learn more about procuring and selecting evaluators.
