Attendees will discuss the Effectiveness in Serving Employers indicator of performance including a review of the Program Year (PY) 2018 annual data, state representatives’ collection and reporting experiences, and state representatives’ ideas for alternative approaches.

Description

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires the Departments of Labor and Education (Departments) to establish a primary indicator of performance for Effectiveness in Serving Employers.  The indicator is a shared outcome across all six core programs within each State and reported annually.  States report on two of the three indicator approaches: Retention with the Same Employer; Repeat Business Customers; and Employer Penetration Rate, as well as any state-specific approach.  Leadership from the Departments will participate in this conversation to discuss PY 2018 data and listen to state feedback.  Representatives from titles I, II, III, and IV programs are invited to share their data reporting experiences for this indicator.

Presenters will:

  1. Provide an overview of annual PY 2018 data and highlight key areas of interest;
  2. Learn about alternative approaches from States in measuring the American Job Center’s effectiveness in serving employers;
  3. Seek input from States on their experiences and challenges with this indicator; and
  4. Address next steps.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback about technical assistance to support state reporting of Effectiveness in Serving Employers, which reflects the impact of the workforce investment system and core program partners.
