Join the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration's (ETA) Performance Accountability Team, as they discuss the recently published guidance for Validating Required Performance Data Submitted by Grant Recipients of DOL Workforce Programs.

Description

On June 18, 2020, DOL ETA published Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) 23-19, Guidance for Validating Required Performance Data Submitted by Grant Recipients of U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Workforce Programs, to provide information to grant recipients of DOL workforce programs (including states) to use in developing procedures for ensuring the data submitted for performance reporting are valid and reliable.  TEGL 23-19 builds upon the parameters outlined in TEGL 7-18, Guidance for Validating Jointly Required Performance Data Submitted under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) (December 19, 2018).

This webinar will introduce the concept of data validation and its application for DOL-funded grant recipients and will focus on the impacts to data validation requirements for WIOA Titles I and III, as well as Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA).

ETA invites all DOL grant recipients to attend this webinar for:

  1. An overview of the requirements outlined in the guidance;
  2. An understanding of the various components of the guidance; and
  3. To address general questions related to establishing a data validation process.

Participants will be invited to share any promising practices in establishing their state validation process.  Staff from specific ETA program areas may deliver grant-specific data validation training for other DOL-funded grant recipients at a future date.

Presenters will:

  1. Familiarize participants regarding the structure and application of TEGL 23-19;
  2. Provide an overview of data validation requirements and guidance; and
  3. Address any questions about the guidance and data validation.
