This webinar will highlight successful partnerships between Community and Migrant Health Centers and their State Monitor Advocates as a strategy to enhance health care delivery to migrant and seasonal agricultural workers. This webinar will also include a Q&A session.

In partnership with the Ag Worker Access Campaign Task Force, established by the National Association of Community Health Centers Committee on Ag Worker Health, the National Monitor Advocate System team is pleased to present on successful partnerships between health centers and their State Monitor Advocates as a strategy to enhance healthcare delivery to agricultural workers. This webinar will feature the partnership between the Connecticut River Valley Farm Worker Health Program, Adelante Healthcare, and their respective State Monitor Advocate.  Participants will learn how these partnerships were established, evolved, and have achieved success in increasing access to quality healthcare for agricultural workers in Connecticut and Arizona.

Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act identifies agricultural workers as a special population due to their limited access to health care services and unique challenges in accessing services.  Through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Health Center Program, health centers receive funding to support the provision of health services for agricultural workers.

Of the estimated 4.5 million agricultural workers and their families in this country, approximately 22 percent are currently being seen in health centers.  The Ag Worker Access Campaign is a national initiative to increase the number of agricultural workers and their families served in Community and Migrant Health Centers.  To achieve this goal, establishing partnerships with other agricultural worker serving agencies is essential.
