This webinar will be the first of four webinars over this two-day launch and will remind us why we all show up to work every day: to better the lives of youth and young adults through comprehensive service delivery of youth employment and training programs.
Where we’ve been: Over the last two years, state and local workforce professionals have worked hard to implement provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth program. While awaiting regulations, we provided technical assistance and you all began the important work of aligning workforce programming for youth, particularly out-of-school youth.
Where we are now: The regulations are out. Additional guidance continues to flow. Now it is time to deepen our understanding of policies, as well as add more tools to our toolboxes of innovative strategies and effective practices for serving youth.
Where we’re going: This Series kick-off webinar will provide an overview of the important components of youth programs and highlight innovative practices around the country gleaned from feedback YOU send in through our discussion threads. It will also lay out the type of TA activities we will offer in “Our Journey Together” through 2018. During this first webinar, we will introduce strategies to improve our dialogue with you and provide opportunities for you to engage with workforce professionals in the youth field.
